Paula Danziger

Paula Danziger, the American children's writer, died on July 8th, 2004; she was fifty nine years old. Born in 1945, she grew up in New Jersey, U.S.A. and became a schoolteacher. She began to write in 1974 following two car accidents, and produced numerous books for children and young adults.

Her first book, 'The cat ate my gymslip' was an immediate success; following that, she wrote a great number of popular books on the subject of adolescent mishaps, and a series of books for younger children featuring Amber Brown.
